Deniss Fiļipovs - Head of Payment Systems Policy division with the responsibility for oversight of payment systems and payment instruments in Latvia.
Started to work at the central bank of Latvia in 2011 as payment and financial market analyst with the focus on payments policy, development and innovation. Currently Deniss’s work includes also the monitoring of the tendencies in FinTech and analysing the impact of the new financial technologies on the payments industry. In collaboration with payment markets regulator I help the market participants to better understand challenges and opportunities of the revised Payment Services directive (PSD2). In addition, Deniss is participating in the Bank of Latvia’s project aiming to introduce the instant payments infrastructure in Latvia.
Prior to joining Imprimatur, Janis was involved in work at Eko Investors - early stage venture capital company in Latvia, Suprema - leading pan-Baltic investment bank, Hansabank Markets - the capital markets arm of Hansabank. Janis also acted as chairman of the board and a member of the board of a number of investee companies where he had a significant role in the business development process including financing, budgets, recruitment, and marketing.
